Music

"O sing to the Lord a new song; Sing to the Lord, all the earth. Sing to the Lord, bless His name; tell of His salvation from day to day!" ~Psalm 96:1

Truly our music each Sunday is an expression of prayer and praise to God! We are so blessed to have an abundance of gifts in worship and invite all who love to sing or play an instrument to be part of our services. The possibilities are endless, and here are some to consider:

Kids Choir with Mrs. Kirkham meets Sunday mornings at 9:30 AM before worship and sings once a month. Mrs. Kirkham has many wonderful songs in store. Kids Choir introduces children to the hymns and songs of our Christian tradition, and helps them develop confidence and an understanding of their role in leading worship. This is a fun place to be on Sunday morning!

Adult Choir meets Sundays at 9:00 AM. You do not have to read music or have prior singing experience. We sing a variety of sacred music, once a month, with special music for Thanksgiving, Advent, Christmas, Lent, and Easter. Adult Choir is open to high schoolers, and we are flexible with family schedules

Gospel Group, our contemporary instrumental ensemble, meets Sundays at 12:15 PM and plays once a month in worship. Music include everything from traditional hymns and spirituals to more contemporary music, and encompasses a wide variety of instruments: acoustic guitars, electric bass, accordion, flute, violin, drums, tambourine, and piano - and we welcome more!

We have always had a strong music minisry - singing with full hearts in worship, bringing joy to those in assisted living communities, caroling, special music at the holidays - and opening our doors to the wider community for hymn sings, concerts, and ecumenical services. This is our faith in action, living into our belief that sacred music has the power to profoundly touch our lives and bring us into ever closer commuion with God.
